Community Guidelines

SalamDFW is a shared noticeboard for the Dallas–Fort Worth Muslim community. Anyone can submit an event, and every submission is reviewed by a moderator before it appears. These guidelines apply to everything you post — event details, organiser information, and uploaded flyers.

By submitting an event you agree to these rules. We remove content that breaks them and may block repeat offenders from submitting.

What you are agreeing to

• The details are accurate — Date, time, venue, and organiser are correct to the best of your knowledge, and the event is genuinely open to the community.
• You have the right to post the image — You created the flyer or have permission to publish it. Do not upload images you found online without the right to use them.
• Submissions are reviewed — Every event is checked by a moderator before it appears. We may edit or decline listings, and we remove content that breaks these rules.
• Anyone can report a listing — Published events can be reported from the app. Reports are reviewed and violating content is removed.

Content that is not allowed

Do not submit events containing, promoting, or linking to any of the following. This list is not exhaustive — we remove anything we judge harmful to the community.

• Hate speech and harassment — Content attacking or demeaning people based on religion, ethnicity, national origin, gender, disability, or sexual orientation. This includes sectarian attacks on other Muslim communities.
• Violence and dangerous activity — Events promoting, glorifying, or organising violence, extremism, or harm to any person or group.
• Sexually explicit or adult content — Sexual content, nudity, or material inappropriate for a general community audience, including in uploaded flyers.
• Scams, fraud, and deceptive listings — Fake events, bait-and-switch pricing, fraudulent fundraising, phishing links, or any attempt to obtain money or personal information under false pretences.
• Illegal goods and services — Alcohol, drugs, weapons, counterfeit goods, gambling, or anything otherwise unlawful in Texas.
• Spam and impersonation — Duplicate listings, unrelated advertising, or posting on behalf of an organisation you are not authorised to represent.
• Privacy violations — Publishing someone's personal information — home address, phone number, or photographs of identifiable people — without their consent.

Moderation and appeals
